Summer Learning Opportunities

Have your kids used their summer break to learn any new skills?  Did you know that kids often have better recall than adults on topics like CPR and First Aid?  We're always amazed at the stories shared about kids saving a friend in the lunchroom or a younger sibling right after they read a graphic or saw a demonstration on choking or administering CPR.

This ability to learn and retain information for later use is statistically significant when they receive a mixture of presentation, lecture, demonstration, discussion and hands-on practice.  This is the precise design of the classes we teach and many are written and presented on a 12-year-old learning level (this is not to say that those under 12 are unable to learn the skills as maturity levels vary greatly among pre-teens; non-certification classes have no pass/fail criteria).  Some educational opportunities for child/teen learners that we offer are:

  • FA+CPR4Dummies - an inexpensive, non-certification course that everyone can benefit from
  • The PET Project - first aid & CPR for pets, excellent for pet owners dog-walkers & pet sitters
  • Heartsaver First Aid + CPR - true AHA certification for those who babysit or care for siblings

We are an approved vendor through Epic's where students can use their learning fund to pay for training.  Even if your child isn't an Epic student, what better way to spend a few hours than learning something that could save a life next week, next month, next year or sometime later in their lifetime?  If you're interest in learning more about the classes we teach that are appropriate for child/teen learners, reach out to us today.  We're happy to help train the next generation of life-savers!
